Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE JULY 30, 2026

The short version

Evidentiary collects nothing. Your case files stay on your Mac, the app sends no telemetry, and there are no accounts to create. This page exists because you deserve to see that in writing.

Your case data

Everything you put into Evidentiary (exhibits, deposition videos, transcripts, clips, annotations, admission records) lives inside the .trialcase package on your Mac, at the location you chose. Evidentiary never transmits case data anywhere. Copy the package and you have copied the whole case; delete it and it is gone.

On-device intelligence

Features that look like cloud features are not: speech recognition and transcript syncing, machine-generated rough transcripts, semantic search, redaction suggestions (detection of Social Security numbers, emails, phone numbers, and similar), deposition summaries, and the in-app help assistant all run entirely on your Mac. No audio, text, document content, or query ever leaves your machine, and no internet connection is required in the courtroom.

No telemetry, no analytics

Evidentiary contains no analytics framework, no crash-reporting service, and no tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, what cases you have, or how you use the app.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Diagnostics you choose to send

If something goes wrong, Help → Export Diagnostics writes a log file to your Mac. It is sent to us only if you decide to attach it to a message, and it contains app logs, not case content.

This website

This site serves static pages and sets no cookies. The introduction film is hosted on YouTube, and nothing is requested from them until you press play — until then the page holds a still panel, and the player it then loads runs on youtube-nocookie.com. Once you press play, YouTube's own terms and privacy policy govern that playback. If you email us, your address and message are used only to reply to you.

Third-party components

Evidentiary bundles open-source speech-recognition and speaker-diarization models that run locally. Their attributions and full license texts are in the app under Help → Third-Party Licenses.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear here with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, changes are unlikely to be interesting.
